PROJECTS

  • Face Recognition Project with MATLAB and Application of PCA [ LINK ]
  • October 2014 – January 2015
  • In this project, we implemented a face recognition system by using principal component analysis, which is known as PCA. PCA method provide a mathematical way to reduce the dimension of problem. Since the most elements of a facial image are highly correlated, it is better to extract a set of interesting and discriminative feature of a facial image. Mathematically speaking, we transform the correlated data to independent data. To implement the transform, we employed some linear algebra method such as SVD. The main idea is to obtain Eigenfaces that every face can be regard as a linear combination of these eigenfaces. Then the face recognition problem convert to a mathematic problem: what is the linear combination of a face? In other words, it simplify a problem from 2D to 1D.

  • "Spectral Mesh Analysis" toward a simple implementation in C++ [ LINK ]
  • October 2014 – January 2015
  • Surface representation and processing is one of the most important topics in computer graphics and geometric modelling, since it greatly a ects the range of possible applications. Intensive research works are carried out in searching for e cient algorithms for the reconstruction, analysis, manipulation, simulation and transmission of complex 3-D models. In this project, we implemented Laplacian framework to model meshes on di erential coordinate. The Laplacian operator can be used to study various di erential properties of triangular meshes and to describe the surface reconstruction.

  • Light's Out" Game and Its Solution with Linear Algebra [ LINK ]
  • October 2014 – November 2014
  • The goal of the project is to find a solution to "Light's Out" Game by using Linear Algebra. Explain "How it can be solved by linear Algebra?", "What is the strategy of the game?" and understand the concept of the solvability condition.

  • RF Controlled Robot
  • January 2014 – Present
  • RF Controlled Robot is an Arduino based, GPS integrated robot that is redirected by the user via RF remote control system and observe the environment with more than 5 sensors and onboard camera for vision. The goal is to scan the area that is dangerous for people and collect the information about observed area. The next step is to give it the intelligence to autonomously navigate in challenging environments.

  • KINECT Face Tracker
  • March 2014 – Present
  • KINECT Face Tracker (KFT) is an application that analyzes input from a Kinect camera, deduces the head pose and facial expressions, and makes that information available to the user in real time.

  • Real Time Navigation System [SENIOR PROJECT]
  • September 2012 – June 2013
  • Real Time Adaptive Shortest Path Navigation System (RETINA) provides a package that is combination of the software and the hardware. It performs a shortest path estimation for the agents who are using it in their vehicles according to the specified parameters such as instantaneous flow and throughput of the road, weather conditions, slipperiness, illumination etc.

  • GPS Tracker [ LINK ]
  • March 2013 – June 2013
  • GPS Tracker is a device that uses the GPS to determines the precise location of an asset to which it is attached and transmits the position of the asset at regular intervals to the internet-connected computer using USB. It also displays the position of the asset by using Google Map in real time.

  • AI Tank [ LINK ]
  • March 2013 – June 2013
  • AI Tank is the project for artificial intelligence classroom. More than one tank exist in a scene and each tank is coded by different person. My tank has steering movements and alignment, uses A* path-finding algorithm, state machine and goal-oriented behaviour.

  • Network Setting Systems [ LINK ]
  • March 2013 – June 2013
  • Network Settings System (NSS) is a tool for configuring the network settings of a Linux system such as setting up/down interface configurations, host name configurations, DNS configurations and adding additional host name and IPs.

  • Mandelbrot Set Simulator [ LINK ]
  • It simulates the Mandelbrot Set [256 ITERATION]
  • Mandelbrot Set Simulator (MSS) is a brief exploration into the mind-boggling and beautiful world of mathematical complexity, by way of the most famous example of fractal geometry, called the Mandelbrot set. Because of the adjustable color graphics and user-defined coordinate system features, it is actually quite easy to explore this amazing object.

  • Earthquake Analysis [ LINK ]
  • January 2012 – March 2012
  • Earthquake Analysis System (EAS) uses near real-time earthquake list of United States Geological Survey (USGS), and displays them on Google Map. It notifies the user when new earthquakes occur. The user can select and show the earthquakes according to their date, magnitude or depth.
